And God's blessings continue...

This was a wonderful busy winter for us! We relaxed for a week in Cabo, enjoyed the holiday in MN with family, Steven took the fire district lieutenant exam (and ranked 3rd!) and we're of course already looking ahead to vacations, trips and house projects for this coming spring and summer. Alas, the DINK (dual income no kids) life will come to an end... mid September 2009. Yep, we're expecting!

Of course we're very excited. It's been fun telling friends and family as well as Steven's fire family too. I've been feeling great. Our due date is around Sept 16? 18? Something like that. No, we DO NOT plan to find out if it's a boy or girl. That's one of God's great surprises for life so we look forward to meeting our child this fall! We'll post our ultrasound pictures here shortly and the heartbeat recording (our midwifes are great to work with) as soon as we figure out how to convert and post that type of file.

Oops

Sometimes food that's just not good for you sounds so yummy... like Spaghetti O's! So while I was heating up my transfat free O's there was this shotgun *POP*. Here's the product of that noise. Yes, I did clean up after my mess :)

Salmon River Trail

What a perfect day off together! We enjoyed Presidents Day with an awesome hike along the Salmon River up by Zigzag near Mt. Hood. Although the trail had some icy patches, we just slid/skated through those areas and tromped through the fresh snow. The water was absolutely crystal clear. It was definitely a hat/mitten day but the brisk pace kept us warm.

The Sakaguchis

As we were sitting down reading Malcolm & Christine's updated blog and thinking about how much I REALLY love hearing whats going on in their lives, Steven says, "Why don't we have a blog?" Hmm.... That's a good question. For the most part, all of our family live in different parts of the country. The majority of my closest friends are in two other time zones. Why don't we have a blog? Maybe it was because I thought we didn't really have that much exciting news to share. But then I remember the things I love the most about reading other family and friends' blogs; hearing about those little moments that make "life" so wonderful. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, check out my brother and his wife's blog. You'll fall in love with our nieces even if you've never met them! So, here I sit on a rather chilly January day, making our blog.
